Linen has long been lauded as the ultimate summer fabric — for clothing and bedding, alike. With its latest product, Australian direct-to-consumer bedding company Ettitude has gone a different route. Made from Ettitude’s signature bamboo lyocell fabric — and woven with threads made from spent coffee grounds — the Bamboo Coffee bedding boasts improved moisture-wicking and odor-neutralizing properties. Coffee has long been used as a deodorant; it’s been employed to neutralize sewer gas and refrigerator funk, and the grounds can scrub the lingering scent of onions from chefs’ hands. But Ettitude’s is the first application of coffee-infused bedding.
The bedding collection has been fully funded on Kickstarter and is slated to ship in November, with sheet set prices beginning at $225 AUD, or ~$170 USD.
