If you care for a yard, you probably know Roundup. If you use Roundup, you should probably stop.
In case you missed it, Roundup isn’t having a very good year. To date, more than 18,000 separate lawsuits have been filed against Monsanto, the company behind the brand, alleging exposure to the weedkiller caused them to develop non-Hodgkin lymphoma, according to US Right to Know.
Roundup is glyphosate, a herbicide-desiccant one-two punch that chokes growth then deteriorates weeds. In 2015, the World Health Organization’s cancer research arm deemed it a “probable carcinogen.”
Available now, Sunday’s new weedkiller isn’t glyphosate. Weed Warrior is a driveway spot cleaner is an organic herbicidal soap that kills pop-up growth outside the lawn and Dandelion Doom eliminates weeds sprouting in the grass itself.
Using weather data, satellites, geology and a soil sample, the brand launched earlier this year building bespoke, non-toxic nutrient spray for your yard. But if you’re just in for the weed killers, you can skip that and pick them up separately for $24 a pair.
