Evergoods and Carryology are no strangers to partnership. In fact, the esteemed bag maker and the media platform/community for carry enthusiasts have created four collaboration projects together, but their latest may be the most impressive.

Part of the Evergoods x Carryology Kludde Collection, the Mountain Panel Loader 22L – Kludde Edition is one of the most impressive trail-turned-EDC packs we’ve ever come across … highlighted by a unique feature that may just make you feel like a secret agent.

A detail fit for Bond, James Bond

Evergoods’ fan-favorite lightweight trail bag, the MPL22, has retained icon status for years; it is known as the brand’s fastest, lightest and most versatile trail pack.

Transforming it meant incorporating performance fabrics, swapping out certain features and adding a unique detail we never saw coming: the hidden zippered stash pockets inside each water bottle pocket.

Your most essential stuff, stashed where no one would think to look.

Stash pockets are nothing new on both trail and EDC bags, of course. You’ll find them anywhere from crossbody bags to totes.

What sets the Mountain Panel Loader 22L – Kludde Edition’s stash pockets apart is the fact that, much like something out of Q’s workshop, they’re essentially hidden in plain sight.

A technical evolution

There’s plenty more to this pack than super-cool, top-secret pocketing, of course. The list of updates is long, and includes a new material with the best strength-to-weight ratio on Earth, relocation of a key pocket, and more.

Evergoods and Carryology kept the upper front horizontal quick-access pocket, but relocated the lower horizontal zipper pocket vertically.

The Mountain Panel Loader 22L – Kludde Edition is now dressed in three limited-edition colorways of Challenge Sailcloth’s Ultra 200tx, a waterproof and durable performance textile that has a tensile strength, gram-for-gram, that 15 times stronger than steel.

Here’s that vertical side-access pocket I mentioned. See?

The interior is constructed using TX70 ULTRA with polyester and UHMWPE CrossPly yarns, usually applied as exterior fabric for ultralight hiking packs. (It also gives a nice color pop.)

Although it was already prized for its organization, this pack reaches the next level by swapping the hydration bladder for a laptop sleeve, adding two exterior bottle pockets (with those hidden stash pockets!) and a signature side-access pocket.

That Blue Flame lining really pops.

Combined with a brand-new Blue Flame or Electric Coral internal lining (thanks to TX70 ULTRA), rugged aluminum hardware and the MPL22’s exisiting feature set, the Kludde Edition is Evergoods’ most advanced daily pack yet … and that is saying something.

Oh, and if you’re wondering about the name, the Kludde is a menacing shapeshifter from Dutch folklore, with the ability to move at mind-bending speeds and shift forms with ease. Appropriate, no?

Availability and pricing

The Evergoods x Carryology Mountain Panel Loader 22L – Kludde Edition is limited-edition, and I don’t expect these to stick around long. (At the time of publish, the Arctic Kludde/ Electric Coral colorway is already sold out.) So if you’re into it, act fast.

The MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L – Kludde Edition is available on Evergood’s site now for $375.
