TVS’s New $1,100 Doctor Doom Raider Rewrites the Script for Small-Displacement Motos

Look beyond the greened-out graphics for a super-approachable value proposition that is a marvel to behold.

Considering all the motorcycles I write about, including loads of Hondas and Harleys, Yamahas and Triumphs, it’s kind of crazy to consider how little I’ve covered TVS.

The Indian brand really isn’t on the radar of most American moto enthusiasts, but it is making huge waves behind the scenes.

After all, it’s the force behind Norton’s stunning re-emergence (in the premium space, no less), and it has helped BMW bring the approachable F 450 GS adventure bike to life. 

That’s to say nothing of its own branded bikes, which prove the power of small-displacement, as its latest Raider, the devilish Doomsday edition, reminds us.

Green machine

With its graphics and paint scheme, the latest Super Squad Edition bike joins the brand’s stable of Marvel-themed rides, following the Deadpool, Wolverine, Black Panther and Iron Man treatments.

Beyond the shimmering Spectral Green paint and Victor Von Doom’s metal-clad visage gazing out from the gas tank, however, this bike is another small-displacement, high-volume dart flung toward the entry-level moto market’s bullseye.

While horsepower and torque are low, approachability is high, thanks in part to a curb weight of just 276 pounds.

Priced at Rs 95,320, which roughly converts to $1,100 USD (but would cost a good deal more if it ever made it to the US, for several reasons), it joins the many other Raider variants in offering a ton of value.

The 124.8cc single-cylinder engine, shifted via a five-speed transmission, makes just 11.22 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and up to 8.7 ft-lbs of torque at 6,000 rpm.

While these numbers are nothing to write home about, necessarily, they are ideal for zippy city riding, especially on a bike with a curb weight of just 276 pounds.

It also boasts an LCD display, navigation, call alerts and more than (wait for it) 85 connected functions.

Such qualities add up to a bike that has played a big role in helping TVS move a staggering 5.89 million two- and three-wheelers during its 2025 to 2026 financial year.

Revenue, meanwhile, has reached a company record equivalent to roughly $5 billion USD.

If the Doomsday graphics aren’t your jam, relax: TVS makes many, many different Raiders.

Bottom line is, you don’t have to make big bikes to have a big impact on the marketplace.

Other brands would do well to take note, lest they face their own, much less promising Doomsday.

The TVS Raider Doomsday is available now from authorized dealers overseas, starting at Rs 95,320, roughly $1,100 USD.
