Moncler’s CityTrek Brings the Brand’s Outdoor DNA to a Technical Everyday Sneaker

Moncler has long toed the line between performance outerwear and high fashion. But its latest footwear release narrows the gap even further, bringing the brand’s outdoor DNA to a city-going sneaker. The CityTrek looks a lot like a contender to Nike’s iconic Waffle Racer or even an Adidas Samba or Onitsuka Tiger, but it also has some hidden features that outshine them all. For instance, its rocker-style outsole is actually Vibram, an extremely tough, durable rubber designed for hardcore outdoor activity. Furthermore, its upper is built from a combination of nylon, which is naturally lightweight, durable and weather-resistant, and high-end suede and leather. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg.

Kansept’s first collaboration with French designer Cédric Destombes combines a sleek silhouette with desirable materials. The 3.31-inch drop-point blade comes in Damascus steel or Elmax, depending on the variant, while the ergonomic handles boast a range of snazzy scales including 80S Camo Carbon Fiber and Rag Burl Current Micarta. Deployed via an ambidextrous thumb stud, the blade stays steady thanks to a reliable liner lock, while a sturdy tip-up clip, uniquely curved to match the handle’s contoured shape, makes it easy to tote in your pocket.

Cole Haan launches what it describes as its most travel-friendly shoe yet with the GrandPro Packwell. The shoe’s slimmed down silhouette packs completely flat and includes a soft travel bag, its stretchy no-tie laces offer slip-on/off convenience, and its flexible and lightweight cushioning make them comfortable to wear all day when exploring a new destination.

Bib & Tucker debuts its first bottled-in-bond bourbon, doubling down on the designation’s four-year aging minimum, resting eight years at Tennessee Distilling Group in Columbia before hitting shelves. Distilled in a single season in spring 2018 and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), the whiskey leans on a Tennessee high-rye mash bill, which is uncommon in the bonded category, and passes through the Lincoln County Process for charcoal mellowing. The nose opens on vanilla custard and oak, leading to a palate that delivers crème brûlée, hickory and dried apricot.

The third one-of-one commission from Bugatti’s Programme Solitaire, the Destrier takes the Bolide and strips away every wing and aerodynamic appendage in favor of pure sculptural form. As such, it dons changes like a wider horseshoe grille, a “breathing” C-line and larger 20- and 21-inch wheels. It also stands just one meter tall, making it Bugatti’s lowest car ever. Finished in Sapphire Celeste paint with a tan leather and copper-thread interior, it’s made only alluring by its quad-turbo 1,578-horsepower W16.
