G-SHOCK’s G-STEEL GSTB1000 Reimagines a Classic for the Modern Era

Minimalist streamlined design, modern materials, and tech all converge in a watch designed to go beyond in any setting.

For over four decades, G-SHOCK has built its reputation on unbreakable design, durability and functionality that’s always evolving. The brand’s new G-STEEL GSTB1000 carries that philosophy forward — distilling the toughness of the original 1983 DW-5000C into a sleeker, more refined form that is true to the core. This is G-SHOCK’s vision of what a modern timepiece should be: aesthetically pleasing, highly functional, and stylish enough to wear anywhere.

A Classic, Reconstructed

The GSTB1000 reimagines the original G-SHOCK for today’s wearer. It retains signature design cues — the brick-pattern dial, octagonal bezel, and red, blue, and yellow accents symbolizing passion, water resistance, and shock resistance — while refining them into a compact, metal silhouette. Measuring just 44.2mm across, 11.6mm slim, it’s impressively versatile at 118g, bridging business, travel, and adventure with ease.

Strength in Subtraction

G-SHOCK embraced a “subtractive” approach with the GSTB1000 — removing anything unnecessary to reveal a minimalist design that balances form and function. The stainless-steel case and bracelet feature both hairline and mirror finishes that catch the light from every angle, while a new trifold clasp adds understated polish and a secure fit. Beneath the surface, the inner case is made of carbon fiber–reinforced resin, urethane buffering components help absorb impact, and a compact module creates a structure that’s light, slim, and incredibly tough.

Built for Now — and Whatever’s Next

Inside, the GSTB1000 packs advanced tech. Tough Solar charging keeps it powered, while Bluetooth connectivity ensures precise, automatic time syncing via the CASIO Watches app. The app also unlocks time and place logging, phone finder functionality, and intuitive settings management, though settings can also be managed directly via the watch’s crown. Add 200-meter water resistance, shock resistance, and a Super Illuminator LED light, and you get a watch that’s as capable in the boardroom as it is on the trail.

Smarter, Stronger, and More Sustainable

Even the materials reflect modern priorities: key inner case components are crafted from bio-based resin, helping reduce environmental impact without compromising strength. Available in three colorways — including the standout black model — the GSTB1000 embodies everything G-SHOCK has always stood for: resilience, precision, and timeless style.

For those who demand one watch that can do it all, the G-STEEL GSTB1000 proves that a functional beauty of toughness and elegance can — and should — coexist.
