G-SHOCK has spent decades perfecting the art of making watches that look as indestructible as they actually are. The new G-STEEL Modern Industrial series builds on that legacy by reimagining two brand icons, the GM2100 and GM5600, through the lens of industrial artistry. The collection brings together the clean geometry of G-SHOCK’s classics with a new level of refinement, showcasing timepieces that capture the raw beauty of machinery: precision edges, textured surfaces, and functional color choices.
The guiding idea behind the Modern Industrial series was to marry a minimalist, industrial design with beautiful metalwork. Every element of the watch was stripped down to essentials, starting with a refined palette of silvers, blacks, and grays. A single red accent — reserved for key functional markings — punctuates the otherwise achromatic composition, underscoring the watch’s utility-driven DNA.

Where Design and Engineering Collide
At the heart of the new G-STEEL lineup is a shock-resistant structure — a G-SHOCK hallmark. The metal bezel’s checker-textured top surface is a visual indication of its shock resistance, while precision-cut holes along the bezel edge reveal glimpses of the glass fiber–reinforced resin inner case beneath. By letting the functional elements show through, G-SHOCK turns what’s usually hidden into a defining design feature.

Industrial Craft, Refined by Hand
Each metal bezel is the product of multiple, meticulously controlled finishing processes — forging, pressing, and honing — culminating in a black IP surface finishing that provides abrasion resistance for the GM5600BM and the GM2100BM. After the exterior of the watch is coated, the finish is partially removed from the bezel to strategically expose the stainless steel beneath adding a stylish look, and a little extra depth. The entire exterior of the timepiece is honed to create a matte finish, and a hairline finish is then applied to the sides to enhance the texture of the metal while tempering the shine.

Classic Shapes, Modern Edge
Each of the four models — GM5600M-1, GM5600BM-1, GM2100M-1A, and GM2100BM-1A — have a shock-resistant structure, 200-meter water resistance, and LED backlight/light for readability in the dark. The 2100 models have vapor-deposited indices to catch the light against matte dials, while all watches feature bio-based resin bands to help reduce environmental impact. Each band has a raised box check pattern to further the overall modern industrial look. Every version feels distinctly G-SHOCK: confident, hard-wearing, and unmistakably industrial — built to handle the impact of modern life while looking entirely at home in it.
