And yes, they promise to work with other devices you already have in your home.

Ikea is having a week.

After announcing a partnership in the summer, the popular Swedish retailer opened its first shops in select Best Buy stores (located across Texas and Florida). The goal of these “installations” is to show customers how Best Buy gadgets and appliances will look and work in Ikea-furnished kitchens and laundry rooms.

And now, Ikea just launched an entire new line of Matter-compatible smart home products that promise to work within your home’s existing smart home ecosystem. And because Ikea makes them, they’re likely more affordable than other options.

The new smart range doesn’t technically have a name, but consists of 21 total products that span across three of the most popular smart home categories: smart lights, smart sensors and smart controllers (including smart plugs).

The good news is that all Ikea’s new smart home products are Matter-compatible, the new smart home standard, meaning they’ll work with Amazon’s Apple’s, Google’s and Samsung’s smart home ecosystems.

Importantly, you’ll still need a smart home hub for these Matter-compatible devices to work. Ikea suggests using its Dirigera hub ($109), but you can use one from another brand (like the one you already own), as well.

11 lights, 5 sensors, 4 remotes, 1 plug

The new smart home range consists of both new products and next-gen versions of existing products that have now been upgraded to work with Matter.

Of the 21 devices in the collection, there are 11 smart bulbs, five types of sensors, four remote controls and one smart plug.

The brand’s new Kajplats series of smart light bulbs consists of 11 different options, which vary in terms of shape, size, style and lumen levels, as well as being able to emit white or color light.

There are five different sensors for motion (for the door or window), air quality, humidity and water leakage. Ikea says these are designed “to support wellbeing and prevent damage.”

And then there are four remote controllers that vary in terms of the number of buttons, whether they have scroll wheels, or their color.

There’s also a simple smart plug — called the Grillplats smart plug — which can be used to remotely control things like lamps or smaller appliances. Ikea says that it also tracks energy use and can be paired with a remote or motion sensor.
