The North Face is continuing its venture into largely unexplored territory: luxury outdoor apparel.

The brand most known for capable yet stylish outerwear recently released the Leather Pack Collection, which reimagines three of its classic styles with timeless craftsmanship, contemporary design and as the name suggests, fine leather.

While the collection’s leather-ized puffer jacket has already sold out, the still-available Leather Bootie Hybrid bridges the gap between mountain and city with stunning looks and durable, reliable components.

Although unexpected, the leather rendition of The North Face’s insulated bootie hybrid looks pretty slick.

Step out in style

The Leather Bootie Hybrid merges TNF’s signature insulated style with premium sheepskin leather, resulting in a boot that, while not waterproof, is perfectly suited for the frigid temperatures winter brings.

Technical components play nicely with the sophisticated leather upper on this hybrid style.

The supple, durable sheepskin leather of the upper is sourced from Leather Working Group–certified tanneries, which ensures more responsible construction methods, including a focus on minimizing environmental impact, better waste management and safer chemical use.

A Vibram outsole and 700fp down insulation keep this new release from coming off as too luxurious for outdoor wear.

The new upper is paired with 700 fill power down, which The North Face makes sure is also responsibly sourced. All of that toasty and ethically produced insulation and leather rides on top of the brand’s proprietary, lightweight Dream nitrogen foam midsole and a nimble EVA stability chassis.

An adjustable cord (with cord lock) plus a pull tab make these easy to slip into and out of after a trek. A Vibram XS Trek outsole with 5 mm traction lugs for enhanced grip and durability completes the package.

Although the new leather upper on this new bootie is not specified as having any sort of waterproofing, these high-end hybrids would be the ideal boot for cold, dry conditions, or short walks on city streets.

You can risk taking them to camp — just make sure to bring something to wipe them down with after exploring.

Availability and pricing

The Leather Pack Bootie Hybrid is available now on The North Face’s official website, but like its puffer compatriot, this luxe style is selling out fast.
