Peak Design built its reputation on travel backpacks and slings — gear that made photographers and everyday travelers rethink how they carry. But last year, the brand made a notable leap into new territory: wheeled luggage.

After years of leading the carry industry with innovative backpacks and sling bags, Peak Design’s decision to officially enter the luggage space last year was a big deal.

The result was the Roller Pro Carry-On, and it immediately turned heads. We were among the impressed, ultimately naming it one of the best 100 products of 2025.

Now, Peak Design has suddenly dropped the price on the Roller Pro across all colorways, making this a compelling moment to pick one up.

The best of both worlds?

What makes the Roller Pro worth your attention is how it bridges the gap between hard-sided and soft-sided luggage — two camps that have long traded off durability for flexibility.

Peak Design’s solution starts with a rigid polycarbonate frame, which provides the structural protection you’d expect from a hard shell.

Peak Design’s luggage solution starts with a rigid polycarbonate frame, which is then wrapped in its weatherproof, scratch- and abrasion-resistant Versa Shell fabric, giving the bag a soft exterior that’s far more durable and forgiving than bare polycarbonate alone.

But rather than leaving it exposed, the brand wraps that frame in its weatherproof, scratch- and abrasion-resistant Versa Shell fabric, giving the bag a soft exterior that’s far more durable and forgiving than bare polycarbonate alone.

On the inside, Peak Design’s proprietary SlimDrive trolley system uses a just 7mm-thick carbon fiber handle — far thinner than traditional telescoping tubes — freeing up meaningful interior space.

The result is up to 34 liters of usable volume, more than many competitors at the same external footprint. The bag also expands an extra two inches in depth for those times you need a little more room.

As you’d expect from Peak Design, the bag also includes several smaller organizational pockets to keep critical items tidy and easily accessible.

A felt-lined interior keeps clothes and gear protected, while a clever packing scheme with elastic straps and a drawbridge-style opening makes getting in and out of the bag significantly easier than fighting a traditional clamshell. It even adheres to international carry-on size standards, so there are no surprises at the gate.

Pricing and availability

The Roller Pro Carry-On is currently on sale for $540, down from its regular price of $600 directly from Peak Design’s website.

The deal applies across all three available colors: Black, Eclipse (a deep burgundy), and Sage (an earthy green).

Given the bag’s novel construction, strong reviews, and GP100 recognition, the timing couldn’t be better to add this one to your kit.
