DysonDyson HushJet Mini Cool
Summer is right around and a handheld portable fan is an EDC I think we can all get behind. Enter Dyson’s HushJet Mini Cool, which you can consider the Rolls-Royce of the category. It’s the brand’s first-ever portable fan and, naturally, it’s engineered for excellence. It features a brushless 65,000-RPM DC motor that delivers 55mph of cool air right to the face. And despite that power, it promises not to be any louder than a common desk fan. It changes via USB-C and has an “up to six-hour” battery life. At $100, it’s cheap for Dyson but wildly expensive for a portable fan.
Expedition Motor Co.Expedition Motor Company 1991 620GE Wolf
Expedition Motor Company just revealed one of its most ambitious military G-Wagen restomods to date. It’s called the 620GE Wolf and it’s based on the firm’s latest pairing of old-school German engineering and American power. Yes, for the first time, EMC started building G-Wagen restomods with 6.2-liter LS3 V8 crate power, and that’s what the 620GE Wolf epitomizes. Modeled after its military application roots, the 620GE Wolf is a one-of-one example, epitomizing the firm’s most recent efforts. Gone is tried, tested, true, yet, workhorse turbodiesel four-cylinder and in its place is 420 horses worth of good ‘ol LS power. Like all other EMC restomods, the exterior and interior undergo complete nut-and-bolt restorations, and then some. And EMC goes further by appointing more modern and updated amenities while restoring the crucial drivetrain parts to retain the G-Wagen’s original off-road capabilities. Although the 620GE is one-of-one, you can still opt for a similar build through the company’s customization department.
PelicanPelican Dayventure Soft Coolers
Pelican has offered a few soft coolers for a while, but the beloved brand has just expanded its efforts with a quartet of new ones that fill in the gaps. They include the 4L Cube, 7L Base, 14L Tote and 9.5L carry. They all vary in their format and carry style, with some more traditionally boxy and others more like carry-all bags, but they do have some connecting tethers, like a highly durable and puncture-resistant exterior, leak-resistant zippers, extreme insulation and much more.
HuckberryWills Cotton Linen Chore Jacket
This chore coat redux is built from a 70/30 cotton-linen blend, giving it a light, airy look and feel. It’s more of a warm-weather shirt than workwear, perfect for throwing on over a t-shirt or polo. It has a pointed collar, button cuffs, two patch pockets and comes in olive green and navy blue.
Sweet ProtectionSweet Protection Tucker III 2Vi MIPS Helmet
The latest performance brain bucket from the 26-year-old Norwegian brand is brimming with bona fides. Developed alongside a Formula 1 aerodynamicist and field-tested at last year’s Tour de France, where Uno-X Mobility Cycling Team rider Jonas Abrahamsen won a stage wearing it, the Tucker III 2Vi MIPS helmet boasts a low-profile design with a slight chamfer and snap-on covers to minimize friction, plus optimized ventilation and integrated eyewear storage. MIPS Air Node rotational protection, the ponytail-compatible 360 Occigrip Fit System and a total weight of just under 11.3 ounces only augment its impressive résumé.
