Big Green Egg’s Newest Grill Accessory Is Both Obvious and Overdue

Beyond ceramic cookers, Big Green Egg makes everything from pizza stones to rotisseries to get the most out of its iconic grill. And now, a longstanding void in its catalog will be filled with the cheekily named Hell Hands. Available in June, these pro-grade, heat-resistant gloves provide wrist and forearm coverage while giving users the dexterity needed to dial in grates, racks and whatever else they have cooking.

Czech automaker Škoda has designed a bicycle bell intended to outsmart headphones equipped with active noise cancellation. In practice, this means it’s a fully mechanical bell that rings at a frequency within the ANC blind spot between 750 and 780 Hz to ensure users are heard. What’s more, it also incorporates a second resonator with a hammer that produces rapid and irregular strikes, generating sound waves that ANC algorithms cannot process quickly enough to suppress. As a result, the DuoBell promises to be a real difference-maker in urban safety. Škoda found that it gave pedestrians up to 22 meters of additional reaction distance and as much as five extra seconds.
