Americans do not like coming in second place. After the USA Cycling Team lost to Great Britain in the 2012 London Olympics, they immediately began preparing for Rio 2016. Gold was on their mind. And for their new secret-weapon bike, they chose Felt — something the Brits would never see coming.
The result is the TA FRD. It is the most advanced track-racing bike ever designed, and quite possibly the fastest. Its drivetrain is on the left, facing the inner track; its cross-sections are asymmetric, as are the airfoils — all world-firsts in track-bike design. Indeed, every detail of the bike is engineered to achieve one pure goal: to go left, as fast as humanly possible.
