Arcam introduced its Radia series of integrated stereo amplifiers just two years ago, but they’ve been a big hit among audiophiles looking to build a more traditional hi-fi setup in a relatively affordable way.

And now the venerable British hi-fi maker has released next-generation versions of those same amplifiers that, according to the brand, “raise the bar even higher.”

According to Arcam, the A5+ is “the perfect introduction to premium hi-fi.”

The three amplifiers

Like before, there are three amplifiers in the new Radia+ series: A5+, A15+ and A25+. The new models share the same name as their predecessor, but have the added “+” designation.

Each model is an integrated stereo amplifier featuring a built-in phono preamplifier for easy turntable connectivity, as well as built-in Bluetooth, allowing you to stream music to the system when not playing from a traditional source.

The three models differ in size and power. The A5+ is the most entry-level, capable of delivering 50 watts to each channel. The A15+ is the next step up, delivering 80 watts per channel. And the flagship A25+ delivers 100 watts per channel.

The A15+ adds “more muscle for larger rooms and tower speakers.”

Upgraded internals

Most of the upgrades with the Radia+ amplifiers are internal. According to the brand, each builds on the DNA of the outgoing A5, A15, and A25, but features “upgraded circuitry, refined components and intelligent power management.”

Additionally, each features upgraded Bluetooth streaming capabilities, with support for AptX Lossless (which promises “bit-perfect CD-quality” streaming), LE Audio and Auracast.

TV connectivity

The biggest upgrades come to the two larger models. Specifically, Arcam added TV connectivity to both the A15+ and A25+ via an HDMI eARC input.

The flagship A25+ also has a new look. Specifically, it has a new OLED display shielded by a glass panel. This design matches Arcam’s Radia ST25 streamer, in case you want to stack the two components.

Price and availability

Arcam’s A5+, A15+ and A25+ cost $1,200, $1,500 and $2,000, respectively.

All three Radia+ series amplifiers will be available in Q4 of this year.
