Pure is a British audio manufacturer specializing in retro-style speakers, radios, and alarm clocks. Its “Classic” series features these devices with wooden veneers, so as to exude old-school charm.

This week, the company introduced several new speakers to its Classic series, including a little CD player and speaker with a kitchen timer, but by far the coolest is this miniature stereo hi-fi system.

Pure’s Classic Stereo Mini is a small hi-fi system comprised of an integrated amplifier and two compact passive bookshelf speakers. As its name suggests, it’s essentially a scaled-down version of the brand’s Classic Stereo.

As Pure puts it, the Classic Stereo Mini is “a powerful, yet compact stereo system that brings traditional audio to life in a stylish and affordable way.”

The little integrated amplifier is the true star of the show — mainly because of its versatility. It functions as a CD player and DAB+/FM radio. It has built-in Bluetooth for seamless streaming. And there’s a headphone output for those who prefer a more private listening experience.

Additionally, there are auxiliary and USB inputs, in case you want to hook up an external music source (like a laptop or smartphone).

The amplifier splits 40 watts of power between the two passive speakers, each of which has two-way design featuring a 1-inch soft dome tweeter and 4-inch woofer.

There’s a 2.4-inch color display on the integrated amplifier that shows music information. You can also use it to switch between various EQ presets to accommodate the type of music (or podcast) you’re listening to, too.

I mean, there’s no denying that the Classic Stereo Mini has old-school charm.

Finally, Pure is offering the Classic Stereo Mini in two different styles — Cotton White and Oak or Coffee Brown and Walnut — each of which oozes old-school charm.

Price and availability

The Classic Stereo Mini costs £280 (approximately $375) and is available now from the company’s website.
