Now that the wait for the new Wrangler is done and dusted, the wait for Jeep’s pickup version is really testing our patience. What the spy shots floating around show us is that it’ll be a four-door hardtop — precisely what we’ve wanted all along. But there’s another Wrangler Jeep should be building: this custom, three-row, two-door soft top.
Over on Bring a Trailer there’s a 1981 CJ-8 Scrambler up for sale. But, instead of leaving the back bed open, the owner sent the two-door truck to renowned Jeep rebuilders Toy Box to add two bench seats. They also sprayed it with a new beautiful dark green paint and gave it a full restoration inside and out. If the green-on-tan combination isn’t enough to win you over (it should be), nearly everything under the hood is refurbished. So is everything else, from the brakes and suspension to the dials and dashboard — all redone with tender, loving care. The extra two rows of seats just allow you to share this wonderful off-roader with four more friends.
