During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, mountaineers depended heavily on watchmakers for precise time measuring in the world’s harshest conditions. Mountain exploration still inspires many timepieces today, and Montblanc has tapped that ancestry to celebrate the 160th anniversary of their in-house manufacture Minerva with the Montblanc 1858 Collection.
At the heart of the collection is the Geosphere timepiece, which pays homage to the Seven Summits Challenge. An intricate new world-time complication on the dial denotes each of the Seven Summits as red dots on two domed hemispheres surrounded by the 24 time zones. The two hemispheres turn in opposite directions for an elegant tribute to the earth’s rotation, making for an immaculate timepiece fit for any adventurer, past or present.
