Today in Gear: Today in Gear: Bose’s simplest home theater system, the Canon EOS 7D Mark II, creative books by Behance, Cole Haan’s new boots, Tortuga’s carry on backpack and a snorkel substitute.

ZeroGrand Tall Boot
Cole Haan’s newest addition to its ZeroGrand family: the rugged Tall Boot. Available in three color schemes — Black and Grey, Ivy and Black, and Sequoia — the boots feature Grand.OS, an “operating system” that allows for more flexibility, increased cushioning and reduced weight. With snow on the horizon, these winter boots are weather resistant and fashionable enough to put you at ease. $298

Tortuga Air Carry On Backpack
Packs like a suitcase, carries like a backpack. Tortuga’s next bag features a quick-access pocket, an organizer pale, padded straps, external and internal compression straps and more. The demure pack, available this January, is ideal for weekend trips and, if flying, eliminates the baggage claim line. $174

The Dot Grid Book and the Action Book
In collaboration with Behance, Ghostly just released two new books: the Action Book and the Dot Grid Book. Both are additions to the Action Method, a book line geared towards creatives. The Action Book is an organizer with four distinct zones to aid in brainstorming and meetings. Each page in the Dot Grid Book, made with graphic designers in mind, features light geometric dot matrices. Each is limited to 500 copies. $16

Zayak Sea Sled
The simple concept for Zayak’s Sea Sled — float and see underwater — doesn’t make it any less exciting. The “dry snorkeler” features a neoprene dry mask, an acrylic wind, built-in handles and comes in three separate designs. Basically a souped-up floaty, it’s made entirely in America. $295+

CineMate 15 Home Theater Speaker System
Not all home theater speaker systems are easy to use, but this one is. The CineMate 15 is the simplest system ever made by Bose. Featuring an impressively small 12-inch-wide sound bar and a hideaway Acoustimass module, it delivers precise audio with deep bass. It also comes with a universal remote that connects with any TV and cable box. $600

Canon EOS 7D Mark II
The new successor to Canon’s longstanding 7D is out: the EOS 7D Mark II features two DIGIC 6 processors, three new lenses and a new mirror mechanism to improve continuous shooting. It improves upon its predecessor’s durability while borrowing its innovative, super-fast dual pixel auto focus; bad photos are difficult to take. $1,799
