The Rip Curl WSL (World Surfing League) Finals is a one-day, winner-take-all-battle for the competition's 2022 world title. The event will be held at Lower Trestles, California during a waiting period that spans from September 8 – 16. This timing allows for solid Southern Hemisphere swells to pulse and create some of the most high-performance waves in the world. At that point, the competition's top five male and female surfers will have the chance to battle it out and secure the world title. Over the last year, 54 participants (36 men and 18 women) performed in 10 regular-season events to try to make it down to the final five. The events spanned seven different countries –– including El Salvador, Portugal, and Tahiti –– and the participants endured two waves of cuts to make it to the Final Five. Now, the top-ranked surfers will have the chance to compete in a high-stakes battle for the title. The competition's current top performers -- Filipe Toledo and Carissa Moore -- will automatically advance to the final round, which is sure to be a competitive, cutting-edge showdown. Fans can watch the competition live on, the free WSL app, and the WSL's YouTube channel.
