DeLorean is ready to take the 2020s by storm, with a car designed to rival the Porsche Taycan set to hit the road soon. Dubbed the Alpha5, the model will hit production in 2024, and, according to CEO Joost de Vries, should rival, "the Mercedes-AMG GT and maybe the higher-end Porsche Taycans.” While most DeLorean fans will be pleased to see that the model has the iconic gullwing doors, the Italian-made design is expected to go 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds, with an EV range of over 300 miles. Take a deeper look over on DeLorean's site, and stay tuned as the model makes an appearance at the Pebble Beach Concours d ‘Elegance show. DeLorean revival aside, kickstart your week with our slew of product announcements to jumpstart your week. This is Today in Gear.

If you're tuned into sneaker culture at all, you're familiar with Tom Sachs' blockbuster "Mars Yard" sneaker releases (the latest edition released back in 2017 — the 2.0 — still runs about $6,000 on the secondary market). Over Memorial Day weekend, the artist-designer unveiled a partnership that celebrates 10 years of partnership with Nike, the NikeCraft General Purpose sneaker. Labeled an "Ordinary Shoe for Extraordinary People," it's a shoe designed to be distinctly utilitarian... but not in an overtly teched-out way. With a simple gray-white upper, two pull tabs and a solid gum sole, you can bet this "boring" shoe is going to sell out immediately when it drops on June 10.
A nod to the "rare and mythical all-black Monaco of the '70s," Tag Heuer's Monaco is iconic thanks to its squared-off dial design. Featuring upscale details like a clear exhibition caseback, alligator leather strap and 18K 5N rose gold-plated oscillating weight (alongside indexes, hour and minute hands), it's a watch worthy of the legendary Monaco Grand Prix. Powered by Tag Heuer's in-house Calibre HEUER02 Automatic, this latest take on the "Dark Lord" design is worth a closer look.
Globe-Trotter's legacy of luxury luggage design is rivaled by only select few brands in the suitcase business. The label's new "Midnight" series gives a fully blacked-out take on Globe-Trotter luggage, spanning everything from its wheeled cary-on designs, to its 12, 6 and 3-slot watch cases, or its "Attaché" suitcase silhouette. Sure, your travel bag says a lot about who you are, but who can hate the effortless appeal of a bag that's jet black from buckle to wheel and back again?
