A Beloved Piece of ’90s Tech Rises from Its Grave as an Affordable Retro Collectible

The Sega Genesis (also known as the Master Drive in other regions) was a pretty big deal back in the ’90s, known for going toe-to-toe with the Super Nintendo (and actually outperforming it on the tech front). While Nintendo ultimately won out, people who grew up in that era still often hold a soft spot for the gaming platform that birthed Sonic the Hedgehog and so many other gaming icons. Now, that console has returned as an affordable Lego set, comprised of 479 pieces (it can even switch badging between Genesis and Master Drive). While it can’t actually play games, it does have a Sonic easter egg Lego mural hidden below the cartridge slot.

As AAPI Heritage Month begins, the cult-favorite sauce brand introduces its new Heritage Flavors Line, which celebrates lesser-known Japanese flavors, ingredients and recipes. A standout of the series is Chili Sesame Japanese Barbecue Sauce, which features togarashi, a traditional Japanese blend of chili pepper, sesame seeds, ginger, orange peel and poppy seeds. Together with Bachan’s signature umami-forward approach, the sauce offers savory heat with a citrus twist that’s ideal for noodles, grilled meats, veggies and more.

In celebration of the first Cadillac Formula 1 race on American soil, the brand has created an exclusive, high-performance variant of the CT5-V Blackwing called the F1 Collector Series. As befits the name, then, it brings some top-level refinements from the GM Motorsports division, including an upgraded supercharger, a manual-only transmission configuration, a precision handling package, loads of carbon fiber and exclusive visual touches inside and out. While the Midnight Stone Frost paint makes the CT5-V Blackwing an understated looker, nothing about the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 and its 685 horsepower and 673 lb-ft of torque is subtle. Just 26 examples are set for production.

From Drake’s Workshop Collection, “Inspired by the rigorous care and attention of Japanese craftspeople,” the Artist Chore Jacket adds traditional Japanese knot-and-loop buttons. It is constructed with 8.8oz Japanese herringbone cotton with a soft texture. The patch pockets feature bound edges, with matching bound edges along the outer seams. It is only available in olive drab.
