TLC Icon CJ3B

Monsterously Modern

Two letters rarely conjure up as many memories as “CJ”. The Icon CJ3B’s ($79,000+) great grandfather, the Willys Overland was designed to be one-trick workhorses. Simple and utilitarian (just the way we like our 4x4s), ICON has managed to meld the spirit of the original CJ with modern day upgrades. The result is a rugged and functional 4×4 painstakingly hand-built in Los Angeles that has us scrambling for ways to sell whatever necessary (car, home, extraneous child…) to procure one.

Available in two packages, an “Old School” route gets owners more in tune with the original. In this form, the TLC Icon CJ3B is outfitted with a reduced ride height, volcanic black matte powder coated vintage style tubular steel structure, 15” body color matte powder coated steel wheels, and BF Goodrich 31×10.5 All Terrain or Mud Terrain tires. The “New School” package is a bit more showy (but my preferred choice) with a taller full suspension for a taller ride height, volcanic black matte powder chrome-moly six point role cage structure, 17 ” Volcanic black matte powder coated steel wheels, and BF Goodrich 285/70R17 All Terrain or Mud Terrain tires.

Of course, the TLC Icon CJ3B specs are appropriately modern and monstrous: 24″ coil-over shock suspension, 200 HP Ecotec GM 4-cylinder engine, Aisin Warner AX15 5-speed transmission, and a NP231 transfer case. You can outfit yours with optional e-lockers differentials, remote canister nitrogen charged shocks, WWII reproduction soft top, a variety of winches, LED lighting packages, or even an MP3 player solution.
