An e-bike may be the optimal commuting method. You get the freedom and portability of a bike commute, without the excessive effort. One of our favorite e-bike manufacturers, Super 73, just announced the “R-Series,” which will be the company’s new top-of-the-line electric motorbikes.
The R-Series will feature the Advanced Super 73 drive system. The rider can adjust to four different classes of riding, from pure pedal power for bike path usage to an “unlimited” mode that lets you tear around your private property at speeds exceeding 28 mph (you can’t do that on the road legally). There are also four pedal-assist levels: Eco, Tour, Sport, and Super.
R-Series models will deliver a throttle-only range of about 40 miles. The “Eco” pedal-assist mode can extend that range to about 75 miles. You can charge the e-bike in around 5-6 hours on a standard outlet.
Because it’s 2020, the Super 73 R-Series will include an electronics suite that can pair with Apple and Android devices using the Super 73 mobile app. The bikes will receive over-the-air firmware updates, and you can option one with remote anti-theft security, geolocation, and crash detection.
The Super 73 R-Series will be available in two versions. The base “R” version starts at $2,995. A premium “RX” model with upgraded suspension, brakes, and LED lighting will be $3,495. But if you pre-order an R-Series on Super73.com between now and the end of February, you can save $500.
