Can you believe it’s been a quarter of a century since Aston Martin introduced its current flagship, the epic V12-powered Vanquish? Neither can we. Which is why we’re taking a moment to indulge in Aston’s latest commemorative tribute.

The Vanquish is best known for being one of James Bond’s greatest automobiles. Just short of the original DB5 and V8 Vantage, and the Lotus Esprit. That’s because the Vanquish was the first Aston Martin 007 drove after his brief stint with BMW in the ’90s.

Since then, the Vanquish helped shape Aston Martin’s image to date. So, its importance to the automaker ain’t no drop in the bucket.

Say hello to the Vanquish 25, an extremely limited and special edition, all to celebrate its existence since its 2001 debut.

25 years of glorious, 12-cylinder British motoring excellence

Ever since Pierce Brosnan’s 007 got behind the wheel of the first Aston Martin Vanquish in Die Another Day, it’s been a monumental symbol for both brands. Not only was it the first Aston to be driven by the iconic British spy since briefly piloting an E36 Z3 in GoldenEye and an E38 750iL in Tomorrow Never Dies.

It’s also become a symbol and the standard bearer for the automaker. Especially as it’s one of Aston’s few remaining models powered by the automaker’s iconic V12.

As such, the Vanquish 25 celebrates all of the above. Available in both coupe and convertible form, Aston will only reproduce the Vanquish 25 50 times in total (25 coupes, 25 Volante convertibles).

Separating itself from the standard the Vanquish, the 25 obviously features a long list of bespoke appointments. All compliments of Aston Martin’s Q branch.

Such appointments include an eye-catching and unique Q Skye Silver exterior paint hue, subtle exterior foil trim bits, a custom Q Commission exhaust system, and stainless steel body fins. As expected, unique “Vanquish 25” badges festoon the exterior, all to remind onlookers that this ain’t no ordinary Vanquish.

The unique fixings also happen on the inside, with custom etched upholstery embroidered with “Vanquish 25.” The engine stop-start button also gets a unique red finish. While said interior is only optionable in three specially commissioned colors.

Not just all show

Under the hood of the Vanquish 25 sits Aston’s latest 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12. The result is 823 horsepower, 738 pound-feet of twist, and a 0-60 time of just 3.3 seconds for both the coupe and the Volante.

Should one find the correct venue, the V12 Vanquish can scoot to a top speed of 214 miles per hour.

Anyone familiar with this iconic British brand knows the provenance of the name ‘Vanquish’ in our modern history. 25 years on from the unveiling of the very first Vanquish it is only right that we mark this nameplate’s contribution to our heritage. Vanquish 25 builds on the extraordinary achievements of the modern, third-generation Vanquish with a carefully curated package of exterior and interior features that subtly celebrate this important milestone in our history.

Availability and pricing

As such, being an Aston Martin, the company’s flagship, and extremely limited in production, the Vanquish V12 likely won’t be cheap. While Aston didn’t share any pricing details, the standard coupe stickers for $433,000 while the Volante convertible commands $468,000. Deliveries are scheduled to commence later this year.
