It’s a QLED TV, meaning it uses Samsung’s Quantum Dot technology and produces brighter colors and better contrast than more affordable 4K TVs by the likes of TCL and Vizio (which still use standard LED technology). As such, it’s a great companion for video game consoles like Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch; Wirecutter recently named the Q8F one of the best 4K TVs for gamers, but we feel it’s equally good for watching sports and movies.
