Buolva was once a premier American watchmaker, and while it is now known as a bargain brand owned by Citizen, it still produces a handful of respectable designs that offer incredible value.
First and foremost on that list is the Super Seville, an archival design pulled from the 1970s that would look very much like a Rolex Datejust, were it not for the TV dial and integrated bracelet.
This criminally underrated gem, which uses a rare technology to deliver an ultra-accurate quartz movement with a smooth-sweeping seconds hand, is always affordable. But from now until March 29, Bulova is offering an additional 25 percent off most of the collection.
For years now, most Bulova watches could best be described as funky or adventurous, but the Super Seville is as classic as it gets. The TV dial is framed by a fluted bezel that runs edge-to-edge on the 37mm steel case.
The dial is understated with faceted applied indices, save for the brand’s logo at 12:00 and a framed date window at 3:00. The dial has vertical satin brushing and is framed by a rehaut with a dash minute track featuring a Roman numeral at each hour.
