Ikea Just Slashed the Price of Its Best Designer-Grade Couches

The Stockholm line is as close to designer furniture as Ikea gets. A rare sale just made two of its best sofas $300 cheaper — but only while supplies last.

Ikea has launched a surprise sale as part of its 40 Weeks of Savings promotion — a campaign celebrating the Swedish retailer’s 40th anniversary in the United States.

More importantly, the current sale surprisingly includes two of Ikea’s most premium furniture offerings: the Stockholm 2025 sofa lineup.

Here’s what you need to know about the sofas and how to score the discount.

Sitting pretty

The Stockholm Collection, in many ways, represents the best of the best from Ikea. The 3-seat sofa is one of two couches included in the 2025 collection. It’s shown here in a modern Djurmo gray/white color alongside its optional ottoman.

Within Ikea’s vast catalog, the Stockholm collection occupies a category of its own. Positioned as the brand’s premium tier, the Stockholm line represents Ikea’s vision of everyday luxury — defined by considered Scandinavian design, tactile materials, and furniture meant to outlast trends.

The collection spans sofas, rugs, cabinets, lighting, and more, all tied together by a consistent aesthetic sensibility that tends toward the refined rather than the utilitarian.

The matter-of-factly named Stockholm 2025 Sofa channels the look of much more expensive pieces from Design Within Reach and other brands, largely due to modern touches like the visible natural wood frame and light beige upholstery.

The Stockholm 2025 Sofa is the more traditional-looking of the two sale items, featuring a clean, structured silhouette with a visible natural wood frame and generously proportioned cushions.

Available in the neutral Sundhamn beige upholstery, it fits comfortably in a variety of living room aesthetics — from mid-century minimalist to contemporary. Ikea describes it as having “generous proportions that feel inviting and embracing,” and the sofa carries a 25-year limited warranty. During the sale, it drops from $1,999 to $1,699 — a $300 savings for Ikea Family members.

The Stockholm Sofa’s textured cotton and linen upholstery also looks much higher-end than the typical cloth-like fabrics found in many of the brand’s baseline sofa slip covers.

The Stockholm 2025 3-Seat Sofa and Loveseat take a noticeably different design direction. Where the standard sofa leans on structure and natural wood, these two pieces are defined by softer, more sculptural geometry — rounded arms, a lower profile, and a modular sensibility that reads as more contemporary.

Both are available in a range of cover options, including Alhamn beige, dark brown, dark turquoise, and a gray/white Djurmo fabric, and both carry the same 25-year limited warranty. The 3-seat sofa normally retails for $1,899 and drops to $1,599 with the sale discount; the loveseat, normally $1,499, comes in at $1,259 — both with Ikea Family membership.

The sale is live now on Ikea.com and runs through March 15, 2026, or while supplies last — whichever comes first. To access the discounted pricing, shoppers need a free Ikea Family account, which takes just minutes to set up.

Given the Stockholm line’s reputation as Ikea’s most design-forward offering, and the relative rarity of seeing it marked down, this window is worth acting on if you’ve been sitting on the fence.
