As veteran snow sports enthusiasts know all too well, the best time to stock up on winter gear is toward the end of the season. 

That’s when brands start clearing out excess inventory by cutting prices on gear that is no less fantastic than it was last month. 

Case in point: Patagonia’s just-launched winter sale, where you can score up to 40 percent off a number of great outerwear pieces in a variety of colors and sizes.
