Riding the coattails of the Gose, last year’s craft beer breakout, is your new favorite session style: the Berliner Weisse. Clocking in at 2–5% ABV, this top-fermented wheat beer is tart and refreshing, making it perfect for those long summer days when one beer turns into six. Though traditionally served with fruit syrup in Germany, American brewers are trending toward adjunct-laden variations on this age-old style, conditioning domestic Berliner Weisses with any and all combinations of stone, tropical and berry fruits.
