In 2021, Gozney hit the scene, catching the eye of many a pizza pie fanatic with its beefy, beautiful Dome outdoor oven. Since then, that same oven has ranked among the best pizza ovens you can buy — even making our list as the best upgrade.

Now, the brand has returned to the product that put it on the map, giving it a top-down reimagining. And wouldn’t you know it, the Gozney Dome Gen 2 Series pizza oven is better in almost every way.

More bang for your buck

The new Dome Gen 2 Series comes in two sizes: standard and XL. However, both are larger than their preceding counterparts. While that might mean you need more space than you might, it also means more cooking surface inside.

Now, these Domes have enough internal room for up to three pizzas at a time. However, since internal space is increased, that also means it’s easier to cook other things inside, too, like roasts, shanks, steaks and so on. You can even toss a cast-iron pan or two into these bad boys.

Despite the upgraded size, much of what we’ve come to love about the Dome remains. It’s still a multi-fuel oven, for instance — meaning it can cook with propane, wood and even charcoal. This helps up its versatility even more.

It also retains the same signature styling that helped make the original one of the best-looking pizza ovens you could buy. However, the upgrades aren’t just to the ovens’ size…

Pie in the sky

Yes, the new Dome revision is bigger than before. However, it’s also more versatile and powerful than ever. Per the brand, these ovens are built to commercial-quality standards — meaning they’re in-line with what professionals use.

That starts with the oven’s stone. Crafted from 30-millimeter cordierite, the stone locks in heat for perfect crust and recovers quickly between cooks. It pairs with space-grade, three-layer insulation in the oven’s walls that keep the heat trapped and, more importantly, even.

The upgrades aren’t just to the ovens’ size.

Regardless of which fuel type you use, the Dome’s flames are lateral-rolling, like a natural wood fire, ensuring a consistent, even cook throughout the interior.

And if you do choose to use propane, you’ll have even more control, thanks to an incredibly precise electric system. This includes twin meat probes, an easy-to-read digital display, a built-in timer and more.

Of course, Gozney still has a wealth of available upgrades and accessories, like a wood fire control kit, attachable mantle (for extra landing space), oven door, a stand, pizza peels and much more.

The setting appears to be outdoors.
Everything you see here (and much more) can be cooked inside this oven — it’s not just for pizza.
