Admittedly, I was a Crocs detractor for a long time. I just didn’t get them. As my chief experience with them was seeing them in kitchens, I thought of them exclusively as line cook footwear, and I had no interest in ever wearing a pair.
So, when they exploded in popularity a few years ago, I was pretty confused and, honestly, a little put off. Eventually, I tried a pair for myself, and now, I can comfortably admit that I was wrong. Even still, it’s hard for me to say I’m excited about a pair of Crocs; It just doesn’t feel right.
Then, I came across the Crocs Classic EXP Clog. At first glance, this looks like the brand’s standard-fare original offering. But it is so much more than that. This might be the ultimate expression of the brand’s most iconic shoe.

What a Croc!
For the most part, these new clogs look pretty much exactly like the Classic Clogs have always looked. If I had to put a number on it, I’d say they’re 97.5 percent identical to the standard version.
The one tiny stylistic difference is the little yellow logo at the bottom left of the heel. However, that little yellow logo has huge implications as to the material differences you’ll find in this new take on the iconic rubber mule.
