Vans is no stranger to collaboration with creatives of every kind imaginable. The footwear brand has long been a favorite among artists, skaters, adventurers and out-of-the-box thinkers alike.

Its upcoming release, an archival sneaker re-issued as part of a larger creative collection, blends hand-drawn artistry with the brand’s signature Off the Wall style.

Old school style

The Old Skool 36 is legendary for being the first Vans shoe to feature the now-iconic sidestripe way back in 1977. The brand’s second-ever skate shoe remains beloved for its durability and simple style.

The OTW by Vans x Julian Klincewicz Old Skool 36, however, transforms the archival silhouette from conventional skate shoe to a premium work of art.

This is achieved through the lens of Klincewicz’s Joyous Chorus, the multidisciplinary creative’s 11-year ritual of daily to‑do list drawings.

The collaboration Old Skool 36 updates the classic Vans model from top to bottom. Offered in vibrant Ivy Green and Mango Mojito Orange colorways, the slim sneaker is outfitted with rich material textures and personal artistic details.

These include the suede overlays, leather details with custom labels showcasing a road sketch from Julian’s own drawings, and a custom Roo lace charm honoring his dog.

The Old Skool has also been upgraded from a technical standpoint, which is typical for refined OTW designs. The shoe features a cushioned insole, soft padded collar and Sola Foam ADC for, you know, all‑day comfort.
