Named one of Asia’s 50 Best Bars just a couple months ago, Bar Gen Yamamoto is one of most unique and lauded cocktail bars in Japan. Owned and operated by Gen Yamamoto himself (who also happens to be the only employee), the bar employs an omakase-style menu (that is to say there isn’t a menu) that rotates anywhere from four to six drinks a night. According to Eater, it also uses hand-blown, hand-etched and exceptionally gorgeous glassware from artist Shizuyo Seagusa and Kimura Glass, called the Kikatsu collection. Starting at around $30, each glass takes a minimum of 30 minutes to make. The collection is available for shipping worldwide.
