Honda’s New Program Will Produce Motorcycles Unlike Anything on the Market

The launch of the Dream Garage tool will turn the stuff of digital fantasy into a reality — for a lucky few.

From subdued neutral tones to bright highlighter-like hues, the color palette throughout the factory motorcycle industry is vast and varied.

Even still, for many riders, customization is a big part of the experience, and a bike isn’t really ready for action until it’s got some sort of extra personal touch.

The motorcycles vary in style and color, including red, blue, purple, black, and multi-colored designs with patterns such as stripes, floral, and abstract graphics. The backgrounds feature solid colors, stripes, and dynamic graphic elements, enhancing the visual appeal of each motorcycle.
Between bright graphics, bold backgrounds and plenty of paint options, Honda’s Dream Garage configurator can certainly keep you busy.

Recognizing this, Honda just launched a new tool through its Dream Garage initiative in preparation for EICMA 2025. Along with an exciting contest opportunity, it provides riders with customization options like never before.

Next-level moto builder

Nowadays, most auto and moto manufacturers offer some form of online configurator to allow prospective buyers to get a sense of what certain combinations look like.

However, Honda’s Dream Garage tool takes things to the next level. Beyond offering a range of colors, it also includes a variety of paint finishes and some truly distinctive patterns.

The bike has a sporty design with a visible engine, black seat, and a side mirror on the right handlebar. Shadows from an overhead structure create patterns on the wall and ground.
Europe’s CB500 Hornet typically comes in much more understated colorways, making the Dream Garage contest a unique opportunity.

At this stage, the Dream Garage only features two models — the Honda CB500 Hornet and the Honda GB350S (the cousin of the GB350) — but both boast an impressive degree of customization potential.

Along with giving users control over the various body panels, the tool allows for wheel personalization and rim stripe designs, among other on-bike options. You can also change the Day/Night settings to turn the lights on, and Honda will even let you pick a background to complement your design.

The motorcycle on the left is a classic-style bike with a black and white zebra-striped fuel tank, round headlight, and chrome accents. The motorcycle on the right is a modern, sporty bike with a black body featuring pink and purple lightning-like patterns, angular headlight, and a large exhaust pipe.

Real-world implications

Now, Honda didn’t launch this configurator merely as a means of killing time. As you’ll see on the Dream Garage homepage, the initiative culminates with a contest to decide what designs to turn into real-life motorcycles to showcase at EICMA 2025.

In other words, here’s your chance to have Honda build a bike of your creation.

In production guise, the GB350S is a subtle model that’s decidedly retro.

To participate, you will need to have a public social media profile, as entries are to be posted online along with the hashtag #HondaDreamGarage.

There will be two separate polls open for the GB350S and the CB500 Hornet, and one winning design will be selected for each model based on the highest number of public votes.

The right motorcycle is a modern sportbike with a striking geometric black and white pattern accented by colorful stripes, set against a nighttime cityscape with tall buildings and light trails.

Your chance to go wild

At this time, Honda hasn’t stated that it will be making its Dream Garage service or any of these color schemes available for order, though the creation of the tool does bode well for the future of the brand’s motorcycle customization business.

After all, on the automotive side, names like Tesla and Slate are demonstrating that there’s a clear demand for more customization options. If any brand has the scale to pull it off in the two-wheeled world, it’s Honda.

In any case, if you’d like to play around with the Dream Garage configurator or learn about the GB350S or CB500 Hornet, you can find more info on Honda’s website. Should you be interested in entering the competition, just be sure to get your bike design uploaded well before September 22.
