We went inside the DeMarini factory to see how some of the best custom baseball bats are made.

Any conversation about bats for high school or NCAA baseball, slowpitch softball or fastpitch — or, let’s face it, how to crush the opposition at your next company outing — inevitably includes the name DeMarini. Founded by Ray DeMarini in his garage in 1989 and purchased by Wilson Sporting Goods in 2000, the company is best known for its innovation, especially the introduction of the the first multi-wall bat, the DeMarini Doublewall, which increased the size of the sweetspot. Recently, DeMarini launched a direct-to-consumer custom bat program, and we visited the factory in Hillsoboro, Oregon, to see how the bats are made from start to finish.
