Gear innovation within the outdoor space has traditionally been aimed at solving one problem: make things lighter. When you’re walking trails and climbing mountains, what you can carry on your back determines what you bring; ounces are counted, and excess is left behind. There are exceptions to the rule though — to bring a choice beverage is one of them.
GSI’s new Boulder Flask is equipped to hold that extra warmth in a vessel that’s both lightweight and durable. The 10-ounce flask is made with a copolyester body and wrapped in a silicon bumper to mitigate any tumbles on the trail. It’s a construction that’s as durable as, but much lighter than, comparable flasks that are made with metal or other rugged plastics. The copolyester body is also conveniently clear, providing a visual for exactly how many ounces remain inside (which is also perfect for load management of a different sort).
