The Reusable Straw That Raised Almost $1 Million on Kickstarter — And Why You Should Buy One

Finally, a collapsible and reusable straw you can take with you anywhere.

Americans use 500 million plastic straws every single day. They eventually end up in oceans and landfills, but FinalStraw wants to change that. The stainless steel straw has medical-grade TPE tubing, weighs 2.8 ounces and fits in a 100-percent recycled case that’s not much bigger than a keychain. Just $20 gets you a collapsible straw and saves 584 plastic straws from landfills. Thanks to over 20,000 backers, the $12,500 goal was easily surmounted — the total at time of publish is $981,744. The straws are set to ship in November.
