Biolite has started some of its most successful projects on Kickstarter. From the FirePit to the SunLight, BioLite brings energy and power to any corner of the earth where you might choose to roam. The brand takes popular and heavily used items, like a portable grill or camping stove, and re-engineers them to be more efficient, robust and even better looking. The HeadLamp is the latest item BioLite constructed, starting from scratch and creating one of the best looking and most user-friendly headlamps we’ve seen in 2018.
We had the chance to test out the new headlamp in upstate New York as we hiked from the Adirondak Loj to the top of Mt. Marcy, the highest peak in the state. Starting before sunrise, under cover of trees meant we wore headlamps for a while. With BioLite’s moisture-wicking flexible headband and a separated battery pack, this headlamp is not a bother to wear in the slightest. The band is soft, yet snug. It stays put through trail runs as well.
The brand launched a Kickstarter campaign but has already made some of the models to be ready for holiday delivery. Today is the last day to order to guaranteed arrival in December of this year for just $49.
