I remember when I used to play golf video games — the last one was Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, I think — and would customize all my clubs so that they were black. All black. Fast forward to 2019 and it turns out that professional golfers and I think alike. Titleist is releasing all-black versions of its best-in-class 718 AP2 and 718 AP3 irons. Why? That’s what Pro Tour players wanted.

Titleist originally released its 718 AP2 and 718 AP3 back in 2017, and ever since the AP3s — the higher-end irons, with a unique hollow blade design which allows players with higher swing speeds to hit the ball even further — have been used a number of professionals on the PGA Tour. (Top pros like Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott and Charley Hoffman are all Titleist ambassadors.) The new limited-edition club sets are named, simply, the 718 AP2 Black and 718 AP3 Black.

Starting March 1, you’ll be able to buy individual irons (3-7) for $188, or a complete eight-club set (4-GW) for $1,499.
