Winter 2020 has hardly begun (and in some places like New England, it feels like it hasn’t begun at all). Still, we’re already getting a glimpse of things to come in Winter 2021, starting with Faction’s limited early release of a new ski called the Agent 3.0.
The 3.0 is a forthcoming evolution of Faction’s ski touring-focused Agent collection, which it created to be lightweight walking uphill and fully capable skiing down. The new ski’s predecessor, the Agent 2.0, claims the best strength-to-weight ratio of any ski Faction makes and subsequently won its share of industry awards.
Faction built on that successful platform with the 3.0, which, with a waist width of 106mm, offers a wider platform for skiing in deeper snow. It fits into a growing category of backcountry skis aimed at those who prioritize the ride down as much as the walk up, and aren’t afraid to leg a little more weight to find that balance. As a result, the Agent 3.0 also has potential as a ski that can readily take on days within resort boundaries too.
