Böker’s Elegant, Affordable New EDC Knife Modernizes a Medieval Italian Design

The Stiletto 3.5 transforms a classic silhouette into a pocketable, conversation-starting everyday carry option.

While modern pocket knife tech often manifests in very contemporary designs, Böker has never shied away from the appeal of classic silhouettes.

Just look at what they have done with old-school Barlow and Cable knives, for example.

Now the Solingen, Germany-based brand is reaching even farther into the past.

The new Stiletto 3.5 taps a style dating back to medieval northern Italy, updating it for 2026, of course.

Dagger swagger

As knife knerds may know, back in the day the stiletto’s narrow, needle-like blade wasn’t just for looks.

According to Böker, it was “designed to pierce armor and deliver the decisive final strike, earning it the reputation of a mercy bringer.”

Penned by Smoky Mountain Knife Works CEO Tyler Pipes, the Böker Plus Stiletto 3.5 brings the form firmly into the 21st century.

The business end is a 3.15-inch single-edged dagger blade made of Swedish 14C28N steel, a wallet-friendly material valued for its corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening.

A false edge along the spine enables it to retain the traditional double-edged look while minimizing the danger when folded.

On the opposite end, the square-ish handle boasts stainless steel bolsters to further protect your fingers, while screwed-in ebony wood scales enhance the old-school vibes.

A spring-assisted opening, activated by a push button, enables it to deploy in a flash, a la a switchblade.

Meanwhile a button lock ensures it can close just as smoothly and securely with one-handed flick of the wrist.

One final feature that I’m certain was not present on medieval versions: The tip-up clip, which makes it easy to stash in your pocket until the next Amazon box arrives on your doorstep.

The Böker Plus Stiletto 3.5 Ebony is available now for $68. The Stiletto 3.5 All Black, featuring a blacked-out blade and black micarta handle, costs $70.
