Did Kith and Tumi Just Drop the Dopest Travel Bag Collection of the Year?

The beloved streetwear brand revives and expands its ultra-stylish collaboration with the luggage giant.

Almost a year ago to the day, Kith and Tumi announced their first-ever collaboration. The streetwear brand reinterpreted its travel bag companion’s offerings to spectacular fashion, and the collection sold out almost immediately.

Now, to celebrate Tumi’s 50th anniversary, these brands are reviving their fan-favorite collaboration with some stylish and functional new additions. And honestly, the Kith for TUMI 50th Anniversary Collection might comprise the best travel bags and accessories of the year.

Kith and kin

As mentioned, the anchor products of this collection are the Kith x Tumi aluminum bags. The luggage remains unchanged from the previous iterations. For reference, the bags include four sizes and three colorways, and some of those colorways are exclusive to specific bag sizes.

All of the colorways are available in the Kith for Tumi International Carry-On, the latter brand’s most versatile and popular roller bag, complete with Kith monogramming imprinted on its hard-sided aluminum body.

However, the collection also includes an extra-large Rolling Trunk in Silver, an Extended Trip Packing Case in Black and a Short Trip Packing Case in Pewter (a champagne gold.)

There are also a handful of Kith-branded hard-sided accessory cases, including an iPhone case, Sunglasses Case, Watch Travel Case and Cigar Case (a bona fide humidor.) There’s even a Kith-monogrammed international travel adapter (the most affordable item in the collection.)

Saddle up

This collaborative revival also sees some new pieces added to the collection. Crucially, all of the new bags are soft-sided, made from premium leather, as opposed to hard-sided aluminum.

All four bags feature the same colorway: Stadium (Kith’s signature dark green) with gold hardware. Furthermore, the premium leather is embossed with Kith’s monogram pattern, just like the hard-sided bags and accessories.

Beyond that, these bags vary pretty widely in their capacities and styles. For instance, on the larger end, there’s a weekender duffel bag. While on the smaller end, there’s a crossbody bag. There’s also a backpack and an all-purpose tote.

Depending on your travel needs and carry style preferences, there really is something for everyone in this collection. Okay, well, maybe not if you’re on a budget, as these bags are pretty pricey — such is the downside of overhyped brands and their releases.
