The easiest and most reliable method to ruining a camping trip is skimping on practical, dependable organization. Digging through jumbled duffles, random totes or, God forbid, a giant pile of stuff stuffed into your rig is a one-way ticket toward frustration, discomfort and sometimes, an adult temper tantrum.

While there isn’t a shortage of gear cases available designed to address on-the-go organization requirements, many of them can be annoyances within themselves, thanks to sticky latches, soft-sided construction that doesn’t adequately protect gear or a lack or weather- or impact-proofing. If a gear case does have these things, it is oftentimes quite expensive, or bulky.

That’s what makes NestOut’s new storage so interesting: the cases are affordable, lightweight and take protective design cues straight from the best hard-sided luggage available.

Protection simplified

The new NestOut Gear Case (available in both 3 liter and 16 liter versions) is a rugged storage solution designed for outdoor adventures who need durable protection without extra weight, with an approachable price point. Both cases are less than $100, making them quite the steal.

Thanks to its polycarbonate construction borrowed from traditional high-end hardshell luggage and storage cases, the NestOut Gear Case is far more durable than a soft case, while keeping weight at half that of more bulky competitors. And functional zippered openings make access easy, foregoing annoying clamps and buckles.

The Small Gear Case is just 1.7 pounds, while the 16 liter Large Gear Case is a svelte 4.2 pounds (compared with Yeti’s 7.5 pound 15 liter gear case.)

Camera equipment, EDC essentials, travel documents, GPS and maps and more can be stored in the hardshell case, which features reinforced corners, weather resistant zippers and thick padded dividers designed to protect gear from impact, rough conditions and unexpected weather.

While the interior organization can hold whatever it is you’d like to protect — from your camp coffee setup to camera equipment — it has been tailored to seamlessly house the NestOut ecosystem, and fits batteries, modular attachments like the Flash, Fan, and Air Pump and solar panels and cables with ease.

Two of the smaller gear cases can sit on top of a single large case, making organization even more efficient — no more trying to balance cases in your truck bed or trunk, only to find them tumbled upon arrival.
