Founded in 1976, Spyderco boasts a deep and broad catalog of exceptional EDC knives and other offerings, making it incredibly difficult to pick a favorite. Still, if you scour the forums, you’ll find spaces where people have latched onto specific models, singing their praises.
The Spyderco Bodacious is one such knife. In fact, there’s a whole Blade Forums thread dedicated to crowning it “The Greatest Knife to Ever Cut.”
While that’s a highly subjective claim, the latest edition — the Spyderco Bodacious Carbon Fiber CPM S90V Sprint Run — is likely to solidify this belief in the hearts of true believers.
Grab the bull by the horns
To understand what makes this version of the knife so special, it helps to have an understanding of the original. The original Bodacious was designed by Sal Glesser, co-founder of Spyderco. And it was named after a legendary American bucking bull — once called “the world’s most dangerous bull.”
To suit its namesake, the Bodacious is appropriately stout, measuring 8.27 inches in length with a wide, ergonomic handle and a similarly wide blade — one that’s much wider than many of the brand’s other popular offerings (like the Para 3 or PM2.)
