This has been a big week for the folks over at Terrain 365.

First, the brand launched a new, leveled-up version of its ultra-tough flagship folder. And now, the brand has brought another of its best offerings back to the drawing board.

The new Terrain 365 DTK-AT Topo takes the brand’s smallest knife and makes it even more compact. But here’s the kicker: the brand managed it without compromise.

A small folding knife with a textured, topographic-patterned handle and a short, wide blade is placed on a detailed wilderness topographic map. The map shows terrain features, contour lines, and labels such as "WILDERNESS," "Rockbound Pass," "Mosquito Pass," and various lakes and meadows. The knife blade has the brand name "TERRAIN 365" etched on it.
This knife is just 3.848 inches in total.

Tiny titan

The DTK-AT is based on Terrain 365’s smallest knife. Measuring just 3.848 inches in total, it boasts the same size and silhouette as a standard-issue dog tag when closed.

That means the blade is just 1.190, and the total weight is 1.6 ounces. Despite its compactness and lightness, it’s still a highly utilitarian EDC knife.

Compact folding knife with a small blade and a textured handle featuring a subtle wood grain pattern. The blade is matte gray with a thumb groove for easy opening, and the handle has a small loop at the end for attachment.
This reissue makes the knife even slimmer than ever before.

This makes it ideal for those who live in places with blade length restrictions, as an auxiliary or backup knife, or for those who just prefer to keep their loadout as tight as possible.

But here’s the real kicker: the brand made this version of the knife even slimmer than before, cutting even more size and weight. And what was compromised? As far as I can tell, nothing whatsoever.

Two metal dog tags are shown, one with a smooth surface and engraved text, and the other with a textured surface featuring a topographic map design and two screws. The tags are overlapping on a light blue background.
The closed silhouette is almost exactly the same size as a standard dog tag.

Compact, not compromised

By now, you’re probably wondering about the knife’s construction. And if you’re not, you should be. Either way, it’s impressive.

The blade is made from the brand’s proprietary Terravantium steel, which is so rustproof that it’s literally guaranteed for life. It’s also highly tough, holds an edge brilliantly and knocks most run-of-the-mill steels off the board entirely.

A gray, rectangular metal object with rounded edges and a subtle topographic line pattern. It has two visible screws, one near the bottom left corner and one near the top right corner, and a small circular loop at the top right. There is a narrow, black slot running vertically near the center. The background is a solid light blue color.
Even though the knife is small, it still boasts a robust integrated frame lock.

That’s mated to a titanium handle, complete with a stylish, laser-engraved topographic etching, playing to the knife’s military inspiration. It also boasts an integrated frame lock, which ensures the blade stays put once it’s deployed (until you need to close it).

Finally, the tail features a lanyard hole, which serves as a great attachment point for some paracord or can be used to turn it into a discreet neck knife.

A small folding knife with a silver blade and a handle featuring a topographic map pattern, attached to an orange braided lanyard. The knife is placed on a black strap over a green topographic map, alongside a clear compass with a black and red needle, and other outdoor gear.
You could use the lanyard hole for some paracord. You could also use it to transform this into a neck knife.
