Vosteed’s Unbelievably Thin EDC Knife Returns with a Trio of New Editions

Thinner than a pack of gum, the Parallel is a triumph of engineering. Now, it has more options than ever, and these new ones are noteworthy.

In late 2024, Vosteed made some pretty big waves with a jaw-dropping achievement: a locking folding knife thinner than a pack of gum. Since then, the Parallel has been one of the brand’s best-selling offerings, and it has even seen numerous other configurations added to its lineup.

The Vosteed Parallel just got a new trio of options that expand the lineup in some dazzling ways, including an interesting first for the knife that could speak to what the future holds.

Two folding knives with textured handles and straight-edged blades are displayed on a dark surface. One knife has a gradient handle transitioning from yellow to purple to blue, while the other has a light gray handle with a cracked pattern. A small green succulent plant in a white pot is positioned in the bottom left corner, and a black wallet with a zipper pocket is partially visible in the top right corner.
Here, you can see all three new configurations (the middle is a gray-on-gray with a tanto blade).

What’s the skinny?

For the most part, the core components of these Vosteed Parallel configurations remain true to the original. They’re all 7.04 inches long with 2.9-inch blades — smack in the middle of the Goldilocks range for EDC knives.

They also have the same general silhouette and, perhaps most crucially, handle. Again, that handle (into which the blade folds) is thinner than a pack of gum, meaning it’s thin enough to slip into a wallet. It also retains its crossbar lock, which is both extremely tough and ambidextrous.

The knife maintains its 7.04-inch Goldilocks EDC knife length.

Furthermore, all three versions utilize titanium for the handle material. This adds to the knife’s durability and strength, and helps keep it lightweight.

Other returning elements include the ambidextrous thumb stud deployment, lanyard attachment point on the tail and reversible (and removable) wire pocket clip.

The affordable gray Parallel also gets the silhouette’s first tanto blade shape.

The Parallel’s new clothes

Of course, there wouldn’t be a story here if the knife had no genuine changes. Thankfully, there’s plenty of newness here.

Two of the versions — which boast S35VN blade steel — get a new handle treatment called “Crackle,” which looks like a dried lake bed or elephant skin. One is white and gold, while the other features an iridescent rainbow.

The Parallel, as always, is thin enough to fit inside a wallet.

Interestingly, the remaining knife — also the most affordable of the three — has the most interesting physical change. While this knife’s 154CM steel is slightly downgraded, the blade shape is a genuine change.

Instead of the typical reverse tanto blade shape, this version sees it flipped for a more traditional tanto shape. This is also the first time the Parallel has had an alternative blade shape, and it could hint at what’s to come in the future: more variation.

Two folding knives are displayed on a dark gray textured surface. One knife is open, featuring a blade with a stonewashed finish and a handle with a gradient color pattern transitioning from yellow to purple to blue, with a cracked texture design. The other knife is closed, with a matte black handle and a blue thumb stud. A small green succulent plant in a white pot is partially visible in the bottom left corner, and a black wallet with some cash is partially visible in the top right corner.
Despite its thinness, this knife still boasts a super-strong crossbar lock.
