The Yeti name goes hand in hand with overbuilt gear. But the brand’s high-end releases — like cases, coolers and cast-iron cookware — come with equally aspirational price tags.

In other words, as “exciting” as the Can Crusher and Hondo Beach Chair might seem to diehard fans, these aren’t the products that spread like wildfire.

According to recent earnings reports, drinkware under the Rambler series now makes up the majority of Yeti sales. Which is to say, the brand’s shiny, new leakproof travel mug could go down as Yeti’s most important (and attainable) release of the year.

Hydration on the go

The Travel Straw Mug may look similar to Yeti’s existing handled drinkware, but it’s a totally new design for the brand.

The handle has been overhauled for increased comfort and a better gripping experience, and it’s designed to fit securely into your vehicle’s cupholder.

Yeti designed the Travel Straw Mug to be your everyday hydration solution — a go-everywhere mug available in three sizes (20-, 30- and 40-ounce options) that can handle the rigors of daily life.

That’s exciting in and of itself, but I haven’t even told you about its most exciting feature yet.

Ready for anything

Yeti’s Travel Straw Mug is notable as the brand’s first-ever 100-percent leakproof drinkware that is rugged enough to stand up to travel, commuting and daily use, without missing a beat.

That’s a pretty big deal for the brand that redefined capable drinkware in the first place.

This new leakproof design is due in large part to the smallest feature on the mug: the new Travel Straw Mug Lid, available in Large and Small.

This capable little lid’s design was influenced by Yeti’s Stronghold Lid on its existing travel mugs, but the key difference is in the capability of the straw to be folded away when not in use, ensuring no precious sips escape. (The lid is also compatible with Rambler Travel Mugs.)

As a very useful bonus, the new Travel Straw Mug Lid can be fastened in multiple positions, so righties and lefties can take a drink comfortably without thinking twice.

Availability and pricing

The Travel Straw Mug will hit Yeti’s official website and third-party retailers in November and will be available in three sizes, ranging in price from $38-$45.
