Todd Snyder focused on one question when designing his new store: “How can we make it easier for guys to shop and help them dress better?” The store, on Madison Park in Manhattan, is sectioned into thematic areas that showcase different aspects of a man’s needs: suiting, casual athletic wear, shoes. Shoppers can enjoy a haircut from an on-site barber or a drink from El Rey cafe. They can also get shopping advice from a personal stylist and get clothing altered by an in-house tailor. In other words, everything that makes it easier to shop and dress better. To get a cheat sheet of goods in the store, we asked Snyder for a few of his favorites.
“This is an exclusive I designed with Mackintosh. I took an old military trench and recreated it with them.”
“We only carry the black, which I love.”
Sanders Chukka Boots
“Do you remember Steve McQueen in Bullitt? These were the shoes he was wearing. It’s the whole encased desert boot — super comfortable.”
“We did a collaboration with Hamilton shirts, so these are all made in Houston. They’re just really great-quality, well-made shirts.”
“I love Aesop products.”
