For the quick weekend escape to the beach, packing is the least of your worries. Toss in the essentials — trunks, a shirt, shorts and a jacket for the cool nights — and toss the holdall in the trunk and drive. Beat the traffic. Take in a Friday sunset. Forget about the “real world” for 72 hours. This gear is perfect for a casual weekend away, including a watch to help you track every second of your escape.
The Perfect Watch
The Oris Divers 65 is a vintage-inspired descendent of one of Oris’s first diver’s watches, introduced back in 1965. It features a slim-line case, thin bezel with 60-minute scale and a trapezoid date window. It also boasts modern enhancements, like a unidirectional black aluminum inlay bezel, bubble-curved glass made of sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating inside, hands and markers filled with Super-LumiNova in place of tritium and a Swiss-made automatic movement. The 42mm diameter watch is the largest in this series, and comes with a choice of stainless steel, leather, rubber or NATO straps.
