Greensboro-based Proximity Manufacturing Company makes a strong case for classic Americana with its debut collection. Of the offerings — button up shirts, baseball caps and a baseball tee — the Vintage Limited Series flannel shirts ($280) tell the best story. The shirts are constructed from deadstock cotton flannel woven by Cone Mills in the ‘70s, and are finished with antique button sets. The silhouette of the shirts are based off of a mid-century full-cut work shirt, and the garments are sewn on early 20th-century Singer and Union Special sewing machines. The price isn’t cheap, but neither is the construction.
